Perkins+Will has been selected as the design architect and architect of record for the New Clinical Building at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. The New Clinical Building will be comprised of the Cardiovascular & Critical Care Adult Tower (CCCAT), and the Children’s Tower (CT).
The New Clinical Building will include over 324 acute care beds, 136 intensive care beds, 45 NICU bassinettes, 55 specialty beds, 98 emergency treatment areas, 30 operating rooms, 22 interventional laboratories, 16 endoscopy/bronchoscopy rooms, radiology services and associated support spaces. The CCCAT and CT buildings are being designed concurrently and will be constructed as a single project. As the architect, Perkins+Will is providing comprehensive project leadership, management, design and planning vision and implementation that embodies the hospital’s design and operational goals.
The New Clinical Building for The Johns Hopkins Hospital is critical to the continued success of Johns Hopkins Medicine in “…producing tomorrow’s doctors and tomorrow’s cures while delivering the best and most compassionate care” to the community of East Baltimore and to patients from around the world. The conceptual design vision of the New Clinical Building is a “...singular building structure designed t convey the uniqueness of the Adult and Pediatric clinical programs contained within and at the same time providing a composition that reconciles its own design with that of the existing Weinberg Building while conveying a sense
